Difference of opinion
It seems the WorldCom Classic defending champion has not been paying attention to the Tour he plays on lately.
"Golf is not a game," Cink said Wednesday, "in which you can keep winning over and over and over."
Somebody might want to tell that to Tiger Woods, who has earned consecutive victories at the Bay Hill Invitational, The Players Championship and last week's Masters.
Spreading the Love
With a tournament-record four Heritage victories, Davis Love III has taken more than $1 million off Hilton Head Island. But he has chosen this week at Harbour Town week to hand out some money.
Love has announced that Safe Harbor and the Kids Across America Payne Stewart Memorial Golf and Sports Complex will share his $100,000 portion of the proceeds from the 2000 Presidents Cup. The Sea Island resident posted a 4-0 record in America's 21.5-10.5 win over the International team last October.
"As proud as I am to have represented the United States in the Presidents Cup," Love said, "it means even more to me that this tournament benefits charities and touches the lives of people all around the world."
Safe Harbor is a shelter for abused, neglected and runaway children in Brunswick. The Stewart Complex, in Branson, Mo., hosts inner-city kids and urban leaders from more than 90 U.S. cities. The late Stewart was a two-time Heritage champ.
Net proceeds from the Presidents Cup were divided equally among the 28 players, captains and captain's assistants to be distributed to charities. Contributions were made in nine countries.
